    BCDedit and multiboot issues

    Win10-1903

I am running this multiboot setup for several years. The machine has SSD #1 and SSD #2, which are Win10 and a clone of Win10.

I ran EasyBCD to create boot entires. However when I boot, I have issues. I have to go into BIOS and adjust the boot option #1 to a certain entry and then #1 selection works. However, #2 doesn't. When I go into BIOS and select an entry for #2 disk, #1 no longer works. Why can't they work together, out of the 2 bootable disks, only one or the other can be used at the same time. but not both. Seems when I configure boot entry #2, it messes up Boot entry #1, how is that possible?

This what bcdedit looks like. C: is the primary Win10 and G: is the clone.

  2. bcdedit worked for me

    Topgundcp...
    Hi,

I have the exact issue posted (Stuck in safe mode, password doesn't work) where you had suggested getting Rescue6.1.1023x64.iso on a google drive. That link is not good at this time. Was that just a standard Windows 10 64b image or something different. If different, is it still available? If so, where please? If it's just a windows 10 image I can try to find elsewhere... is the 'bcdedit' something on the standard windows image?

    Much appreciated,

  3. Win 10 multiboot

I get the multiboot menu, but any keystroke (arrow or enter) locks up the machine. ESC restarts OK. If I allow the timeout, it boots normally. I can only access the alternate OS by changing the default via BCDEdit (or EasyBCD).

I've tried various repair/reset sequences without success.

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
