Windows 10: best Approach..

Hello,
I have 2 working pc. A w 7, a w10 version.
The w 10 pc is for vr. I got dogs, have not turned on w 10 pc almost a year. W 7 pc works great but.......
W 10 ver is around 17xxx build. Its on an SSD. I have been seeing where w10 updates have been hell all year long. too many bugs, patches, more bugs, more ads, less useful os.
My questions:
Do i allow the w 10 pc to update itself thru to current version, or should I clean install the latest version out right? I have a valid key.

Whats the microcode revision offered in mobos bios support? I use an i7 6950. Is it about the hacker doors/ zero days in intel chips?

Will Lotus Approach run in Windows 10 Pro?

I am running Lotus Approach version 9.8.0709.1005 in Windows 7 Pro 64 bit using Windows XP (service pack 3) compatibility mode.

If I upgrade to Windows 10 Pro 64 bit, will Approach still run?

I have seen info that suggests that 16 bit programs will not run on Windows 10 64 bit.
