Windows 10: Best Desktops ?

Yeah Stay Away From HP> Just to err on the safe side.
No to computer lovers are alike so other then our recommendations here, when all is said and done; it's your final say. All I can say is do your homework, there is so much information on each that your considering from Dell to Acer to such and such and some stuff you may only need a chrome book or something more if your wanting a lot of memory/power. Even if you not needed a *Gaming* kind of performance from a desktop PC, still want it to run smoothly and with out bogging down only 6 months after buying it. I like masterchiefxx17's idea as well; when you build your own it's built by YOU so everything you need in it and no extra *Stuff*

Why stay away from HP?

I just outgrew a seven-year-old HP desktop, replaced with a Dell.
And my wife moved off of a seven-year-old HP desktop, replaced with a Lenovo laptop.

Both HPs performed well. I had a drive failure on one of them after three years, but no other issues.
Both still work ... but they were replaced for newer, better, faster equipment.

So again, why stay away from HP?

 

I note a lot of folks me included have had terrible problems and service with HP in the past as well as the present. The OP, knows about it, maybe from past horrors? who knows.
If HP changed it's ways thus creating better products and service; then good. I did mention to the OP to do his research. I don't like dell either but, left that one out.

I wonder ... I bought those two HP desktops in 2010.
Have the bad HP experiences come up more recently than 2010?
That is, was I just lucky to get HP in their "good" days?

 

Yeah, your a lucky fella for sure.
It was to the point folks were recording
their call to HP Reps. I don't doubt there are bad
mess ups in ALL brands but it seemed HP then was the worst.
I concede, I could be wrong due to outdated information.

IDK about reputation, in my experience asus is not bad

 

Actually Asus makes a great desktop PC because they use all of their quality Asus parts. For RAM they typically opt for Crucial and Corsair and Seasonic for the PSU.

 

Also to think about Robert is used PCs . I brought 2 from Dell and both are doing really good, best part about them they were cheap . Dell at times have refurbished PCs for good prices, you might want to take that route
