    Best Way To Go BACK to Win7


    Thanks for the tips Jimbo. You can read my 1st post to see why I'm trying this. Although, I'm going to try creating another test gmail account, and see if I can sign into Chrome with that. Also, I'm thinking since my machine is only 4 mo.s old I'm going send it back to ASUS and see if they can figure out my issues. Thanks for all the help guys.

    If you want to clean install Windows 7 on a computer came with windows 10 factory installed, you have to be cautious about at least one thing: Disable Secure Boot.

    After disabling Secure Boot, Follow this guide: UEFI (Unified Extensible Firmware Interface) - Install Windows 7 with - Windows 7 Help Forums

    As Windows 10 does not satisfy your needs, but Windows updates in Windows 7 will prompt you to upgrade to Windows 10, you may also want to Disable Upgrade to Windows 10 in Windows Update for Windows 7.

    Best Way To Go BACK to Win7

    Hey Guys. Well, my experiment didn't work. It looks as though there weren't any Win7 drivers because when it came time to boot up Win7, after copying the files to the HDD, all it would do when the logo came up is give me the deer-in-the-headlights look. So, now the help I need is with the Windows Boot Mgr. When I boot up it comes up with the choice of "Setup" (W7), or "Win10", and I want to get rid of the W7 option so it just comes up normal.

    I've also made up my mind that I'm going to send it back in to ASUS because it's CONSTANTLY losing it's WiFi connections. I've already updated all the drivers, and it still keeps dropping off, while my W7 laptop that's sitting right beside it does fine. BTW, the versions on ASUS' Support page are out of date. I'd actually like my money back, but I know my warranty with the retailer has run out.

    Finally, if anyone can tell me how I can get back to the ASUS Restore page I'd appreciate it. I know there's one out there cuz I used it awhile back. I'm just SOO sick of having to sign into 2 different accounts. I'm unable to create a PIN that works. I was told by the software I had to change my MSoft password, so I did, but then it would take it in 1 place, and not the other. I'm just SOO confused, and frustrated I never want to see Win10 again. Just let me freakin' WORK!

    For that one, in Windows 10 - Win key + R to bring up run dialog box. Run MSCONFIG. Select the boot tab. You can delete the Windows 7 option there.

    Press "Windows key" and "R" simultaneously on the keyboard. You will get the "Run" box.
    Type msconfig in the box and hit enter. The System Configuration window will appear with the "General" tab selected.
    Go to the "Boot" tab. Do the following.

    Now restart the computer to see if it worked or not.
