BIOS won't see bootable USB/Only boot option is "Windows boot mngr "

So I Do Not know if this is the right category for this topic but couldn't find a better one.

Recently I had some problems updating to 1703 and I already wanted to do a clean install of windows 10.
so I created a bootable Win10 usb disk but the UEFI BIOS only shows "Windows Boot Manager" as boot option and I couldn't find a way to make the BIOS recognize or show the usb so if anyone of you can help me with this my computer is Asus X550VC its a laptop and doest have a fancy BIOS as well.

I would appreciate all the help and thanks.

    :)

Clean install to SSD using ISO image and error "We couldn't create a new partition or locate an existing one." Help please!

I have not tested this yet, but rufus 2.2 has the option to create both mbr and uefi setup when creating the usb flash boot drive for windows and linux.

Did you have the usb plugged in when you tried as a lot wont boot usb unless its presant. ASUS manager should give you the option the set the boot state

BIOS won't see bootable USB/Only boot option is "Windows boot mngr "

Its a simple app that checks for updates and lets you set the boot options

I didn't see mentioned but a lot of computers have a BIOS that doesn't support USB 3.0 ports [usually blue] or devices until after the Operating System has loaded. One has to make sure to use the USB 2.0 port [black] and in some cases a slightly older Thumb drive. I believe the MCT/Media Creation Tool reformats the Thumb drive as FAT32. I always use 8GB drives, 4GB frequently isn't enough and anything on the drive gets deleted in the process so using 16GB and larger is not necessary.

How did you create the bootable USB is what I want to know. Did you use Rufus? As far as i know, rufus is the only tool able to create bootable USBs that can be detected by UEFI...

No. NTFS is Wrong. UEFI can only boot Fat32. It needs to be changed.
