    Bitlocker De-encryption?

My work made it compulsory to have Bitlocker on our personal USB drives to save date on to them at work...

When I encrypted my personal USB drive, their system did not ask me to create a password...

It fully encrypted my USB drive...

Now when I put it into their computers, or mine at home, it asks for a password to open it!

As I was never asked for a password when it was encrypted, I do not have one...

I contacted our IT department who looked up their system for my recovery key, which they found, which does not work!

I have ten years of documents on that drive, which was my back-up for what was on our computer...

They replaced the computer and did not move the documents to the new system...

So now I can not access any of my documents from the last 10 years...

How can I un-encrypt, or unlock this USB drive so I can access all of my documents???

There must be some system Microsoft has in place to facilitate this!

Any help is very much appreciated!!

    :)
