  1. BitLocker Wizard Question.

    Hello,

I'm trying to enable BitLocker encryption on a brand new Dell Latitude laptop, and I think I may be misunderstanding what BitLocker does. After navigating to BitLocker Manager, and selecting 'Enable BitLocker' for the C: drive, it asks me where I would like to save the recovery key to, and that's it! It does not ask me to submit a password for the drive. I did some research and found that if the computer does not have 'TPM', it will prevent the BitLocker Wizard from functioning correctly. I checked on this, and verified that this laptop does indeed have TPM version 2.0 and meets the rest of the specifications required that are outline in the official documentation from Microsoft. I scrolled through this article and found that it clearly states: "Upon passing the initial configuration, users are required to enter a password for the volume." I was not given that option. Can somebody help me out? I feel like I'm missing something here, but I can't for the life of me, figure out what it is.

    Thank you!

    :)

Need to turn off Bitlocker to install Windows 10

    Hi,

We suggest doing the following steps again to resolve the issue. To complete the procedure, make sure that you have the following information:

    • You must be able to provide administrative credentials.
    • The drive must be BitLocker-protected.
To suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption on an operating system drive, please follow the steps below:

    • Click Start, click Control Panel, click
System and Security, and then click BitLocker Drive Encryption.
    • Click Suspend Protection for the operating system drive.
    • A message is displayed, informing you that your data will not be protected while BitLocker is suspended and asking if you want to suspend BitLocker Drive Encryption.
    • Click Yes to continue and suspend BitLocker on the drive.

Let us know how it goes.
