Windows 10: Black background color/ starter screen has changed

I am having problems with my computer. I logged on and the home screen has changed. I no longer can see my apps, the background is black. I have tried changing the color from the settings. It is set on black and I can not click any colors. Under the Personalization section, I went to color and non of the features are working. Please help me change my computer back.

Close all open windows, restart the computer once and then login to the computer to check if that helps.

Background color:

  Choose
  Personalization.
  
• 
  On the left-side of the window, select
  Colors.
  
• 
  Then
  Choose a Color.

The answer given below did not solve my problem. I followed the steps given and when I returned to my work screen it was still black, there does not seem anyway to save your changes and color selection.
