  1. Black Primary screen on boot until monitor re-plugged

Hey first time posting here so forgive me if don't formulate this question quite right.

I have an issue that whenever i restart, or boot my pc my main display remains black and searches for an input as nothing is being displayed to it but my login screen is still there and i can login then see my desktop on my other screen. but still nothing on my main one. ive searched around and found many people having the same problem but none of the fixes worked. If i unplug and re-plug my monitor it fixes it and it works again.

    I have

    - Made sure windows is up to date

    - Made sure drivers are up to date

    - Disable fast boot in windows and bios

    - Removed and re-installed all pnp monitor drivers

    Specs:

    ASUS ROG STRIX B450-F GAMING

    AMD Ryzen 7 3800X 3.9GHz 8-Core

8GB AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT 50th Anniversary Edition

    Microsoft Windows 10 Home 64bit

  2. Primary Monitor goes black

I posted this same exact question in January. I was able to get it resolved by performing an In-Place upgrade, as suggested. That worked, until about a week ago. Now I am having the same exact issue again. I tried
doing an In-Place upgrade again, and it did not resolve the issue this time. I also confirmed that my NVIDIA drivers are up to date as well (I installed them yesterday).

I have 2 NVIDIA GeForce GTX 560 graphics cards in SLI and 2 monitors (a Dell connected via DVI and a Samsung connected via a DVI->HDMI -> HDMI mini) About a month ago after the Windows Feature Pack update, I started having issues with my monitors. When
only one is plugged in they work fine, so I know there isn't an issue with the cables. When I plug in the 2nd monitor, it works, but the primary screen goes black. If I open any programs, the still open on the primary screen and I have to use Windows + <Left
or Right> to move it from the primary monitor to the secondary monitor. If I open the display settings, and switch which monitor is marked as primary, it disconnects both monitors, then brings them both back on, and both display properly. But the primary
goes black again when my computer goes to sleep or is restarted. I have confirmed installed the latest NVIDIA driver this afternoon, and I still have this issue. I have tried the following:

    - changing which ports/graphics cards each monitor is plugged into

    - confirmed the Dell monitor's drivers are up to date (the Samsung is a generic PnP)

    - uninstalled the Display Adapters completely (it switched to using the default windows driver, but still didn't work)

    - unplugged the computer and the monitors for 5 minutes then reconnected them

    - scanned my computer for corrupt files using sfc /scannow

Any help you be greatly appreciated, as it is very annoying to have to guess that I'm logging in, and then switch my main display every time I want to use my computer.

  4. Black Primary screen on boot until monitor re-plugged

Black screen when booting to secondary monitors

I have a Dell Inspiron 13 connected via a Kensington SD 4000 dock to two external monitors.

When I am in my office, the laptop is connected to the dock, and the lid is closed.

Everything works fine, EXCEPT when I restart (or just boot up)

On restart - the laptop boots, but the secondary monitors (both) get a black screen - I can see the mouse cursor but nothing else.

The quick "solution" is to open the laptop lid and close it again. This immediately brings the lock screen up to my secondary monitors and then everything is perfectly normal.

What I want to happen is no black screen, just boot up to my secondary monitors. This used to happen, but something changed and I can not figure out what.

    What I have checked:

The display drivers are up to date. This is an Intel HD Graphics520

The docking station driver and firmware is up to date

The Power Saver plans are all set to DO NOTHING WHEN PLUGGED IN, and to normal power saver type settings when on battery.

Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!
