Windows 10: Black screen going on and off on desktop

My computer died recently and when i plugged it in and turned it back on and typed in my password it started to go to a black screen, then it would load and then go back to my desk top screen. I could open chrome and it stays open, but when i try to open control panel and other things like files or pictures, they get closed out when the screen goes black. I tried to restore it back to the last restore point and that didnt fix the issue. I havnt recently downloaded anything so i really dont know why my computer is doing this. If there isnt any solution for this i would be fine with factory resetting but i dont know how to with out control panel being closed out when the screen goes black. PLEASE HELP

Black Screen after Log on


Computer boots to windows log on,have no password here.After a minute on log on it go to a black screen,stays there forever. I can get to Task Manager from black Screen,lost on what to do next. Just want my Windows 10 back, not sure what caused this problem. Any Suggestion on what my next step should be?*Sad

  When you say “Now, nothing is on my desktop” what exactly are you referring to?
  
• 
  Are you getting black screen after Sign in?
