Windows 10: Blackscreen forever after KB4507453

Hey there, i've got here a System using W10Pro 64 on an asrock P75 pro 3 Board using an Xeon E3-1230V2 CPU.


I upgraded it in Juny to 1903 without problems, but since beginning of july it is causing major issues.

i blocked the updates for 30 days in hope for a fix, but still no solution here.


It is the following:


It installs KB4507453 and is sticking at the 5 circling dots at startup forever.

Some tries i have to go to protected mode to uninstall it, sometimes it works only uswing the "uninstall recent updates" function in service menu.


I've tried a lot of things. The Errorcode says 0x800f0923 and i found this can be due to driver problems or Security Software.

So again, i removed the update in protected mode, uninstalled kaspersky, tried the update again => same problem. So i replaced the graphic card (quadro 600) with another (as the Xenon doesnt have integrated) => same Problem. LAst thing i could imagine with "driver os security software" was Acronis True Image. I also removed that, still the same problem.


It doesnt make a difference if i install it online or offline, of course i tried several fixits for the Updating system. There are no extension cards except the graphics adapter. I dont have any idea how to go on. As it is a workstation from a customer with cad-software it would take days to reinstall it and get all licences to work.


Firmware, drivers and user Applications are all up to date (and exact the same software combination is working on 3 more systems in the same office). There have been 2 more computers there that had a Problem installing that update, but they both did in the second try after removing via protected once.

KB4507453 failed with error 0x800f081f

this happens to me too and after some tests I realized (in my case) that 0x800f081f occurs when I remove/uninstall edge using install_wim_tweak tool

since I do a lot of tweaks/remove metro apps before connecting a Fresh Windows Install on Internet, I did some tests step by step on VM, formatting/reformatting/etc..

1) Fresh Win install (18362.175) -> Update KB4507453 OK (Build 18362.239)

2) Fresh Win Install (18362.175) -> Removed Apps/Win Tweaks -> Update KB4507453 OK (Build 18362.239)

3) Fresh Win Install (18362.175) -> Removed only EDGE with install_tweak_tool -> Update KB4507453 FAIL. (error 0x800f081f)

So, by elminination, EDGE was the cause of the problem in my case. I'm used to remove CONNECT too with install_tweak_tool, but I didn't test it.

after updating to kb4507453 my updates stops it just lags on checking updates i uninstall kb4507453 my updates work but downloads the update again and does not do updates whats the fix
