Windows 10: Blank Login Window - OneNote App

Running Windows 10 version 1903 OS build 18362.900. When I try to sign into OneNote Windows 10 OneNote app it asks me to select an account and shows me my one and only Microsoft account. I click on it to select it and then click "Continue". I then see a new window with the "circling dots" and saying "Just a moment". The window then goes blank and just sits there.


Chrome is my default browser but I changed to Edge and that did not resolve the problem.

OneNote Login

Recently installed Windows 10 over Win 7 Pro

OneNote from systray works fine. But the "app" initiates and wants me to login

which would change my machine password. The "app" appears to be unfamiliar

with the fact that it's already up and running. But I can't select if from the program

list or tile without it trying to init for the first time.

What is wrong?

• Are you using office OneNote or Windows OneNote app?

If you are using Windows OneNote app ten I suggest you to run the app troubleshooter and then try to login and check whether the issues persist.

The Modern app troubleshooter can automatically identify and fix some problems with apps and the Store.

OneNote App not syncing_Can't find file location

Hi Matthew,

It seems that the app may be corrupted. I suggest that you reset the OneNote app. You can do so through Settings:

• Click Start, and then Settings.
• Go to Apps, and then Apps & features.
• From the list of apps, select OneNote.
• Click on Advanced Options.
• Click on Reset.

If the issue persists, it might help to uninstall and reinstall the app.

• Click Start, and then Settings.
• Go to Apps, and then Apps & features.
• From the list of apps, select OneNote.
• Click Uninstall.
• Get the OneNote app from the Microsoft Store.
