Windows 10: Blank Screen with No Cursor at Startup

Hello Everyone,


Both my and dad's computer sometimes get stuck while starting and can't even get to the password screen. Sometimes the keyboard works while this happens e.g num lock/caps lock gives light when you press them but the cursor never appears. The fan works like crazy and the computer heats up, so clearly something gets stuck. After restarting it multiple times with pwr+esc and letting it rest for a few hours everything goes back to normal but I don't understand what causes this to happen, and if it is something I should be worried about. Btw dad's computer had some screen issues in the past, the screen brightness was too low that it seemed like the screen was blank etc. so he was kind of worried that the same thing was happening again. I really don't think that's the case because the screen was very fully bright and blank today, a lot of light was coming out of the screen, it wasn't pitch black, it was a faded gray but I also don't know the issue so I wanted to learn what causes this to happen to make sure everything's fine.

Blank screen on startup...

I've got an old Gigabyte GA-8IPE1000-G motherboard lying around. But I only get a blank screen on startup. I get the ram beeps and everything, just no screen??

Any ideas on where to look for the prob?

Any help would be welcome

need more information on the rig your on about, psu, graphics card, ram , cpu

what beeps are you getting?? that could be telling you what the problem is
