Windows 10: Blocking gaming/gambling sites

I have Windows 10 and would like to block the casino/gaming/gambling sites from my computer. I tried to get help from the virtual agent, it keeps sending me to the site to control a child's use of computer. I know on my old, old pc, I could maximize settings so some sites would be blocked.



Another issue I have had for about 3 years is Windows Installer - can't install anything - get a window saying not verified-?????. Thought this would be remedied when my son got me a new laptop with Windows 10, but still can't install.




Any help would be appreciated. My computer-eze is getting antiquated!!!!

Need help. Something is blocking sites.

Check hosts file (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc). The blocked sites should be listed there.

 

Blocking sites with Hosts File


Hello,

I am trying to block all porn sites on the laptop that I let kids play on. I tried using the hosts file to block them, I found a huge list of porn sites to block. But when I tried to load other sites like Facebook, YouTube, etc. It will take forever to load as I believe it is checking the whole list of sites.

Now what am wondering is there anyway of doing it and not have any difference with the speed of any other website? Because youtube should just come up with no issues. But with all those sites in the host file it takes forever.
