    Blue and Yellow Flashing Shield on Taskbar.


    I have Windows PowerShell pinned to the task bar.

    If I want to run an Administrator level session, I right-click on the taskbar icon, and select "Run as Administrator" from the list.

    A "User Account Control" dialog box will ask me to confirm running as administrator, and the PowerShell console will open.


    Over the past few days this has changed.

    When I select "Run as Administrator", a flashing blue and yellow shield icon appears on the taskbar.

    If I place the cursor over the icon, it shows expands to show a title "Windows PowerShell is requesting your permission".

    If I click on the shield icon, the "User Account Control" dialog box is displayed and I can proceed as before.


    This also happens for PowerShell 7.0.3.

    It does not happen for "Command Prompt" or other Apps which want to run at Administrator level.


    Is this a new feature, or a bug, or malware?


    I can't tie the "problem" to a particular change.
    I have recently.

    - installed the July service.

    - installed the July Preview service 19041.423.

    - upgraded from PowerShell 7.0.2 to 7.0.3.

    - upgraded the Bluetooth driver.

    - upgraded the Wi-Fi driver.

    - upgraded the Management Engine driver.

    I can restore back to a point a few days ago, where all these changes are in place and the "problem" does not exist, but after a while it starts again.

    I have run Windows Defender scans, Offline and Full Online, and no problems are reported.

    Hi Angelo,

    The blue and yellow shield that shows on that icon is the UAC shield that is being placed on a desktop icon if the program requires permission from the user to run for the accounts protection. This is to prevent other users in accessing the program using
    their account. This cannot be removed by default.

    Hi,

    Recently I've installed a program and it has got this blue and yellow shield, everytime I want to run this program I need to put my password in. And I was wondering how I remove it, because to be honest, I'm getting sick of putting in my password so I was
    wondering if there was a solution to this problem.

    I am not very computer savy but after installing age of mythology on my computer a yellow and blue shield icon appeared on it. I am the administrator for the computer and have tried to remove it but nothing I do seems to work. Computer is upgraded to windows
    ten and all other programs are working without issue it is just this one game that keeps being blocked. What methods can I use to remove this shield?
