  2. Turning on Win10 PC after Installments Win7 Then To Win10 Problem

    Dear Microsoft Community

I am having configuration problem with a laptop I have upgraded from WinVista to Win7, then Win10

I found when installing Win7, it seemed like I was installing the twice.

Now when I turn on the laptop, I get an option open the laptop in Win7 or Win10 on a light blue screen.

Can anyone please direct me in solving this issue.

Flashing screen after upgrading to Windows 10

I upgraded from Win 7 to Win10 and my computer is hung.

My computer reaches the Win10 welcome screen (looking at ocean from a cove) normally.

When I log in, it reaches my home screen which blinks with mouse pointer a 'busy' blue circle.

Task manager does not allow me to end processes (at my own risk) like Win7.

    How do I repair Win10?

How do I revert to Win7?

Harry, there are several possible causes, and thus there are several possible solutions. This one MIGHT work for you.

Get into Device Manager--Display Adapters--your video card. Find the tab labeled "Events," and select the date that Windows 10 was installed. If it tells you that the driver was not completely installed, you need to SET A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT, and uninstall the driver. Do not delete the driver. 10 will automatically install a generic driver, so your screen won't go black. Reboot. It might ask if you want to install the latest driver and it might do it automatically. Go back to Events and select the last action to see if the driver was re-installed correctly. Either way, you will still need to reboot.

If your video driver was installed correctly, then your problem lies elsewhere.

Thank you Vince! I have done that. But it's still the same. Blue screen once last 3 hours.

    DRIVER VERIFIER

Warning Please make a backup of your important files and get your rescue media or create one.
    Please create a restore point.
Please follow this tutorial to run driver verifier.

Some windows drivers are blamed in a few crashes, but that usually means that a 3rd party driver is actually the cause.
Driver verifier stresses your drivers and will crash your pc if any driver fails due to a violation.

Driver verifier should be performed for a max of 48 hours, or when you have a bluescreen, whatever comes first.

If driver verifier has found a violation and you can't get back into windows normally, try to boot into safe mode and reset in safe mode driver verifier, or in the troubleshooting options open command prompt and type verifier /reset.

Note Your system will act very sluggishly while driver verifier is enabled, this is normal as your drivers will be being subjected to heavy testing in order to make them crash.
