    Blue up and down arrows (like syncing) on most applications on desktop


    Hi,

    Windows 10/Office365

    Computer slowing down and little blue up and down arrows suddenly simultaneously appeared beside most application icons on my desktop. Help . . . what's going on.

    Two blue arrows at top right of icons

    The files under Desktop folder have same issue. I solved problem using below steps.

    • Right click to Desktop folder.
    • Click to Advanced button
    • Unchecked compress contents to save disk spaces. Click Ok, ok and apply
      buttons.

    After these steps, arrows should be disappeared and also you can use below command to clear icon cache.

    Desktop Arrow Symbols

    The arrow symbol in your screen capture is the standard arrow for a shortcut, it does not mean compression !!

    Autoruns or ShellExView should tell you which application is adding that Overlay.
