    Bluescreen when unplugging sound interface

I have a habit of unplugging my sound interface Focus rite Scarlett Solo 2nd Gen USB Audio Interface as a way to save a tiny amount of power; the interface emits a small green dot. This time, I did the deed with a guitar amp simulator open Cakewalk by Band Lab. At first, I blamed the software and moved on to Amplitude 5. Yet again, another blue screen. I was trouble shooting this for a solid 4 hours to no avail. One thing was common, the blue screen only happened if there was an amp simulator running, and the sound interface had been physically disconnected from the tower. Additionally, there were no bluescreens while disconnecting with Audacity running. This is what the bluescreen itself had said during reboot “stop code: SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, what failed: FocusriteusbSwRoot.sys”. Drivers for the interface are up to date. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

    What WinDbg showed me

    Bluescreen when unplugging sound interface

    Good surround sound headset

I know you say you're not that guy, but stepping into the $250+ range really brings a change in build quality that might have you never having to buy another set. Otherwise, getting 6 speakers with decent sound in a headset is hard, and that's what you are asking for, and I have no suggestions, but just a bump up the list. *Stick Out Tongue Bluescreen when unplugging sound interface :p
