Windows 10: Bluescreens / Freezes

Hey guys,

so i'm having some issues with my Computer. It randomly freezes up when playing games or browsing the web. If this happens no dumpfile is created. Sometimes it bluescreens and creates a dump file. I got 2 different Bluescreens and another one when i debugged my Drivers to check for issues.

Bluescreen 1: UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP <- the dumpfile for this bluescreen will be in the ZIP file.
Bluescreen 2: CLOCK_WATCHDOG_TIMEOUT <- Sadly there is no dumpfile from this bluescreen so i can't upload it.

All right now when i read stuff up a bit i stumbled across checking my drivers with driver verifier. Then when i rebooted to start again my Computer didn't boot anymore.

Bluescreen 3: DRIVER_VERIFIER_DETECTED_VIOLATION <- No Dumpfile aswell

So after resetting my Computer to a save point i checked every driver 1 by 1 to filter out which one is causing the issue.

The Blue Screen only appeared when i checked Intels driver hswultpep.sys

So now i'm kind of lost with what to do from this point since i cant find anything on the internet to solve this driver issue.

Thats why i'm here hoping for some help because this freezing and Blue Screening is really annoying.

BSOD: Kernal Security Check Failure

So I'm still getting this bluescreen error while using Fl Studio. I also have this other issue where the sound will cut off randomly and the volume mixer freezes. Eventually the computer freezes and I have to use the power button to restart. I don't mind
this as much because at least I can save my progress as opposed to the bluescreen that just shuts everything off. Anyway, here's the minidump for the bluescreen that just happened. I'm very frustrated so please let me know if you can help me.

Both of the dumps you uploaded indicate Memory_Corruption. Definitely need to check your RAM & Hard drive:

Download Memtest86+ (you want the 2nd one Download - Pre-Compiled Bootable ISO (.zip)). Unzip it then create a CD from the iso file using your CD burning software. There is a good freeware burner called ImgBurn which will do this easily.

DO NOT burn the .iso file directly to CD. It must be used as input to a program that knows what to do with it, like the one I mentioned above.

You can do this on any computer that has a working CD Burner.

You can also use a Flash drive instead of a CD.

Download - Auto-installer for USB Key (Win 9x/2k/xp/7) *NEW!*.
Unzip and run Memtest86+ USB Installer.exe.
It will format the flash drive if you tell it to. I used a small, 16MB flash drive and it had 8.5GB left when done.

Boot the CD or Flash drive and run Memtest86+ for at least 3 complete passes unless it shows errors sooner than that. An overnight run is even better.

You can stop the test after you see the first error appearing *Smile
Follow this tutorial to see how you can find out what exactly is causing the errors.

Check the hard drive with the manufacturer's diagnostic tools.

Let it run over night 8 hours 4 passes 0 errors.

Will try out the hard drive test later today and report back.

 

Looking through the Event Viewer log (eventlog.txt), there are many, many of these entries:
Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered.

You have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 with driver version 368.22.

You could try using DDU to uninstall the Nvidia video driver then download and install a newer version.

I ran HDD check but everything seems to be fine.

Did uninstall Graphic driver in safemode using DDU and installed the newest version.

Will report back if the crashes still happen.

 

Still crashing. Just now my pc froze up and right when it froze my headset made quite a loud KRSTHSCHHTT sound or something i almost got an heart attack.... (as usual no dumpfile when it froze)

Then try driver verifier again.

 

It is and it's not creating a dump file because it doesn't even login to my account when i driver verify hswultpep.sys
It's the same as with the freezing the pc just freezes there is no time to create a dumpfile or anything unlike when the bluescreens happen....​If i leave that driver out everything works as usual.

 

Sure sounds like the Intel hswultpep.sys datedWed Jan 30 13:04:06 2013 has a problem.

This is part of the ACPI driver. It's quite old and needs to be updated I think. Check the ASUS web site for a chipset driver update for the Asus Maximus VIII Ranger.

There sure seems to be the problem i can't either uninstall nor repair the Intel(R) Management Engine Interface V11.0.0.1136 for Windows 7 32bit & 64bit / 8.1 64bit / 10 64bit. Driver. It just says "The setup grogram ended prematurely because of the following error: Fatal error during installation. Click here to open log file location" <- the same error occurs when i try to uninstall or when i try to repair.

I will add the Logs for the error in the attachments. There are 2 files so i'm not sure which one it is i will just upload both.

Nevermind i can't upload the other log because its more than 2mb big. If the small file isn't enough i can upload the other log (its name is IntelME_MSI.txt)to a file hoster i assume.

 

What about the BIOS update and Chipset drivers?

Also, please upload the other log file. If you zip it first then upload the resultant .zip file it should be allowed here.

Hey BIOS is up to date and after uninstalling the MEI driver in the device manager i was actually able to just run the setup again from MEI-Win7-81-10_V11001136 chipset driver from the Asus website. No idea what fixed the issue with the Fatal error. So all drivers are up to date for sure now.

Also i just uninstalled Intel(R) Core(TM) 4xxxU and 4xxxY Processor Line Power Engine Plug-in from the device manager.

The hswultpep.sys driver is gone now and everything works as usual.

Will report back if bluescreens/freezes still happen.

 

If you get another BSOD, run DM_Log_collector again and post zip here please.
