Windows 10: Bluetooth driver/adapter gone after updating from Win 7 to Win 10

I would try the Asus one first

In both cases, unblock the file(s) before installing.




For the Asus Zip
- Extract the files from the compressed folder
- unblock both Setup.exe and Intel Bluetooth.msi

It's always good practice to uninstall the device driver first in Dev Mgr, remove the software if prompted or there's a checkbox in the dialog window.

I tried the driver from Asus and it always gives me the error that is not supported to my Windows Version.

The driver from Intel, I didn't install the version you gave because it says "Page not found", still I have Win 10 not 8.1. So I installed the same driver but for Win 10 and it installed successfully. Still, I can't "see" that there is bluetooth. It doesn't show up on the Tiles when you click on the right lower corner.

See if the Intel Driver Update Utility finds and installs the driver for you.

 

I tried using the Intel Utility before creating this thread, it installed some drivers for other things, I think. Still, it didn't do anything to the Bluetooth. At least I don't see that I have Bluetooth on the device manager or at least I don't find anywhere on the computer that says "Bluetooth". It's pretty non-existent.

 

You'll probably have to manually install the driver.

Use the Asus BT driver
If it already expanded/extracted the files to a new folder - great ( look for a folder named Asus on C: )

Is there a flagged device in Device Mgr (Unknown devices category)?
Right click, select properties
post a screen shot of the details tab - drop down to HS Ids

 

No, I don't have any exclamation mark anywhere on the Device Manager. *Sad
I can't ever install the ASUS Bluetooth driver because is not compatible with Win 10.

I just want to give up, and buy a 3.5mm Male to Male cable.
