Windows 10: Bluetooth functionality lost

Hello Microsoft Support,

I have been using Windows 10 on my laptop since I purchased it. It came with a Qualcomm Atheros AR956x network card that supported Bluetooth on further inspection I found that it was an AR9565 but I don't think that's important in this case.


Today I wanted to connect to my phone via Bluetooth to receive some files, however I cannot see any switch in Windows Settings to toggle it on or off. I have no idea why it's not working now because the Wi-Fi connection is perfectly fine, so it shouldn't be an issue with the network card itself.

I also am not able to find out which driver is causing the problem if it even is a driver issue as there's about ten files referencing Bluetooth in their description. I'm also a little sceptical about deleting those files even though I'm aware that Windows should automatically install them again.


I'm running Windows 10 Pro 1903 build 18362.657.

lost bluetooth function after windows 10 Fall Creators update.


I updated my Dell tablet this morning to latest build, I immediately lost bluetooth . Not even listed in Device manager. When I ran Bluetooth trouble shoot, the result was that my Atheros Bluetooth UART Transport driver cannot Start ( code10) . I did not try to uninstall driver and restart computer . However after I rolled back to previous version of windows10 , Bluetooth started working again.

I seldom use this laptop . How do I stop windows from trying to update version again ? Tks

Bluetooth Technology Gets Faster With Bluetooth 3.0

From its annual All Hands Meeting in Tokyo this week, the Bluetooth SIG formally adopted Bluetooth Core Specification Version 3.0 + High Speed (HS), or Bluetooth 3.0. This latest iteration of the popular short-range wireless technology fulfills the consumers' need for speed while providing the same wireless Bluetooth experience – faster. Manufacturers of consumer electronics and home entertainment devices can now build their products to send large amounts of video, music and photos between devices wirelessly at speeds consumers expect.
Bluetooth 3.0 gets its speed from the 802.11 radio protocol. The inclusion of the 802.11 Protocol Adaptation Layer (PAL) provides increased throughput of data transfers at the approximate rate of 24 Mbps. In addition, mobile devices including Bluetooth 3.0 + HS will realize increased power savings due to enhanced power control built in.

And as with all versions of theBluetooth specification, v3.0 + HS provides developers, manufacturers and consumers with the benefit of backwards compatibility, enabling both the expansion and enhancement of this technology with every new specification release. Applications
With the availability of Bluetooth version 3.0 + HS, consumers can expect to move large data files of videos, music and photos between their own devices and the trusted devices of others, without the need for cables and wires. Some applications consumers will experience include:

• Bulk download photos to a printer or PC
• Send video files from camera or phone to computer or television

Availability
