Windows 10: Bluetooth is not working all of a sudden...

Hi, earlier today I turned on my PC and my wireless headphones but they wouldn't connect. I went to settings and found that Bluetooth was not working and apparently was not compatible with my computer, which it had been for since I got it back in December 2020.

I have spent the last hour or so trying to find a solution. I have tried multiple things such as, restarting the computer, updating drivers, restarting services, etc. Obviously, none of them worked. In device manager, I noticed that the Bluetooth menu was under "Show hidden device" but no solution could fix that either. None of the forums or Q&A sites I looked at were from the last year nor the last Windows 10 update, so I hope that there is an updated solution out there that I cannot find. I am starting to get a bit frustrated and am willing to work with what the community says.

Bluetooth not working all of a sudden,it has to do w win update today

believe, the window update cumulative update (KB4592449) has broke the bluetooth connectivity on my laptop. It not working at all with my logitech mouse. The very first step, I did was check the

in settings It shows the bluetooth as turned off, However I tried to Add again, this message appeared




This is very unusual, it first time this happened, no other occurrence where the bluetooth goes completely missing. I checked on the

where I found two things, One was bluetooth missing and other one being Unknown USB Device error (

Code 43 ) I took the next step to reinstall or repair mode to fix the driver (Qualcomm QCA9377wifi +bluetooth ). This also did not fix the problem

Under troubleshoot in settings, I did run the troubleshooter, only to find that problem found detected, it doesn't say anything else other than this information. One thing I did was go in to services then on "Bluetooth audio gateaway service" "Bluetooth support Service " "Bluetooth user support service " I reapplied whatever the setting was and service status as running.

I am still trying to figure out whats going on, I would appreciate if someone can take a look or share some knowledge on fixing the issue. Thank you.
Btw, I uninstalled the update, the bluetooth doesn't work.

 

Can't get Bluetooth working...

If your sure that its recognised properly then have a look on this links page http://www.holtmann.org/linux/bluetooth/

The only thing i can think of to fix if it isnt recognised by linux is the following:

Firstly you have to find out what chipset your bluetooth dongle uses.
Secondly i think your going to have to basically compile your own kernel and include the module for the chipset that your bluetooth dongle uses.
Thirdly depending on if you add it to the kernel or as like built in you will have to add the name of the module to a config file which is used when you boot linux.

If the kernel doesnt have support for your bluetooth dongle then you can either try and find a different copy of the kernel which does or try and find the driver for it.

To recompile your own kernel however requires a whole guide itself , plus different linux distro's will have different kernels with different options and slightly different config files.

Only thing i can suggest is going to www.gentoo.org and reading through their handbook, its basically step by step setting up linux manually, in the handbook there is a page or two on recompiling your kernel for your particular configuration.
