Windows 10: Bluetooth is undiscoverable!

I am Mac. I have a challenge with my Bluetooth which cannot be discovered by my other devices. I upgraded from Windows 8.1 to 10 in June. Before then I had no problems with uploading or downloading files via bluetooth betwwen my devices and my laptop. After my upgrade to Windows 10 I had no problems for about two weeks. I went to settings to turn bluetooth on and the message would indicate that it is on but despite this my other devices would not pair with the laptop. A click on the extreme right would indicate that bluetooth is not on. When I click on it, it turns on and off again to show it is not on. When I check on the control manager I would find that it is on! But still no communication. After uninstalling it it would not re-install. I have tried all sorts of advices online without success. I am currently running Widows 10.

Can I have bluetooth on but undiscoverable?

In previous versions of "Windows Mobile" once an object was paired e.g. handsfree phone it was possible to have bluetooth on but undiscoverable to other devices. Now in Windows 7 whenever I turn bluetooth on I am informed it is always discoverable to other
devices. I do not wish to be vulnerable to bluejacking but do need the handsfree. Any solutions?

I would like to suggest that you update your Bluetooth drivers. Follow the steps below to perform an update.

Method 1: Run hardware and Device troubleshooter

• Click on the Start button, and type “Troubleshooting” on the search bar.
• Click on troubleshooting, then click on “Hardware and sound”.
• Under Hardware and sound, click on “hardware and devices”.
• A pop-up will appear, click on the “Next” button and your hardware troubleshooting will start.

Method 2: un-installing and Installing Driver.

• Click on the Start button, and type “Device Manager” on the search bar.
• Open Device Manager, expand “Bluetooth” for your keyboard as well as headset.
• Find and double-click on the Bluetooth from the left panel to uninstall.
• Right-click the device, and click Uninstall.
• Windows will prompt you to confirm the device’s removal. Click
  OK to remove the driver.
• After the uninstallation is complete, reboot your computer.
• After you have successfully uninstalled the driver, please go to the computer manufacturer’s website, download the Windows 10 driver for your computer and check.

Bluetooth in windows 10

My computer specs are as listed in the profile. I think all of you guys are correct. I don't have built-in Bluetooth in mobo.

I contacted skull candy headphones and thy have told me if I do not have built-in Bluetooth, I would need a dongle which supports at least a2dp. I do not know what the heck that means. I have a feeling I would need more than a cheap dongle.

Anyone suggest some a2dp adapters. I searched but don't know what a2dp is so couldn't make a decision
