Windows 10: Bluetooth module error

Can't get Bluetooth working...

The only thing i can think of to fix if it isnt recognised by linux is the following:

Firstly you have to find out what chipset your bluetooth dongle uses.
Secondly i think your going to have to basically compile your own kernel and include the module for the chipset that your bluetooth dongle uses.
Thirdly depending on if you add it to the kernel or as like built in you will have to add the name of the module to a config file which is used when you boot linux.

If the kernel doesnt have support for your bluetooth dongle then you can either try and find a different copy of the kernel which does or try and find the driver for it.

To recompile your own kernel however requires a whole guide itself , plus different linux distro's will have different kernels with different options and slightly different config files.

Only thing i can suggest is going to www.gentoo.org and reading through their handbook, its basically step by step setting up linux manually, in the handbook there is a page or two on recompiling your kernel for your particular configuration.

 

Bluetooth Module Problem

My PC : ACER Travelmate P253 : Windows 10 pro 64bit ver. 1909
I cannot access the 'Bluetooth Settings' option in Control Panel - clicking on the Icon does nothing....
The Bluetooth option does not appear in the Action Centre window.
Bluetooth has worked on this laptop some time ago.
The Bluetooth Module is a 'CSR Blutooth Radio' and is plugged into a USB Port.

Things I've tried : Uninstalled and reinstalled the module and tried in all 3 USB ports - USB Ports are working OK with other devices. I also tried a second CSR module but the result is the same... Both module work in another ACER Laptop.

I Confirmed that 'Airplane Mode' is disabled.

In Device Manager :
1. Click on Bluetooth Radios > CSR Bluetooth Radio
2. Right Click on CSR Bluetooth Radio > Properties...
3. Under General Tab it states "This Device is working properly" !!
4. Under Driver Tab - Driver Provider Cambridge Silicon Radio Ltd. Driver Version 2.1.61.0 Dated 27/02/2012
5. Under Events Tab - Device installed (csrbtport.inf_amd64...) status 0x0 I tried updating the Driver but I am informed that the best driver for the device is already installed.

I accessed Services.msc and checked Bluetooth Support Service is 'running' and set to 'Automatic'.
Tried the Windows 10 'Troubleshooter' (Bluetooth : Find and fix problems with Bluetooth devices) and it reports : "Bluetooth is not available on this device. Please try using an external adapter to add Bluetooth capability to this computer".... (Very Helpful !)

I've searched many posts on the internet to try to find a solution but so far have drawn a blank.....

I would be most grateful if anyone could help cure this problem.

 

Bluetooth driver error 10 when converted to Windows 10

Apologies for the late reply.

Error code 10 is a driver error, as you have already tried to install the drivers I would suggest you to un-install and re-install drivers and check.



Try the following steps:


Follow the steps mentioned below:

• 
  Right on the start icon and click on device manager
  
• 
  Select Bluetooth adapter, right click on it and click on un-install.
  
• 
  Restart the computer,
  
• 
  Now, install the latest drivers from the manufacturer's website.
