Windows 10: Bluetooth service keeps dropping

Brand new Surface Go keeps dropping Bluetooth and BT button disappears from dashboard. Community advised manually restarting BT local services shown in attached photos. That works sometimes, but one or two of the three BT services keeps stopping. Can I reset them to all to restart automatically after ALL/SUBSEQUENT failures without effecting something else?


This seems like a major flaw, if tablet can't/won't support a BT mouse or any other BT feature, as advertised. May need to return unit, if there's no permanent fix. Have others complained? Is it being addressed?

Bluetooth Services

I've been using the audio gateway on my phone for a while, but when I actually looked through the list of services it does provide, I found it to be quite large. For some reason, my computer doesn't support many of these, such as remote control etc.

I'm pretty sure it has more or less to do with my bluetooth adapter, because it gives me only a small list of the total services it can accept. Anybody have any idea how I can add more?

When Bluetooth doesn't work or the Bluetooth icon is missing

Try these steps if your Bluetooth isn't working. Here are some other common problems:

• The Bluetooth icon is missing or Bluetooth can't be turned on or off.
• Bluetooth doesn't work after a Windows 10 update is installed.
• Bluetooth doesn't work after you upgrade to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 or Windows 7.
• Bluetooth doesn't appear in Device Manager, and there are no unknown devices listed.

 

Pairing Bluetooth Headphones

As an additional troubleshooting step, we suggest that you try to change the Startup type for Bluetooth Support Service as Automatic. Here are the steps:

• In the search box, type services and click on the result.
• Select and double-click Bluetooth Support Service.
• Under the Startup type, click on the drop-down menu and change it to
  Automatic.
• Restart your computer.
