Windows 10: Bluetooth Speaker pairs, but doesn't connect.

I've spent over 30 hours trying to fix this, and this is a last resort. I've done literally everything I see at least 5 times each. I've updated bluetooth drivers, turned off hands-free telephony, turned off the display thing, and almost every basic solution there is. I'm using a techkey bluetooth adapter with Windows 10, because the laptop's built-in bluetooth doesn't work for some reason. I can connect and use a bluetooth mouse, but not a speaker, and I've used a different adapter from another computer, and tried the one I use with my laptop on the computer, and it's definitely the laptop, not the adapter. PLEASE HELP!!

Can't select paired bluetooth speaker as sound output (Windows 10)

I just got a new bluetooth speaker, an Urbanears Stammen (concrete grey)

I can connect to it from my phone, using Bluetooth, and play back sound no problem. But I can't get my Windows 10 laptop (Dell XPS 15) to use it as a playback device.

I can connect and pair to it no problem, as you see in the screenshot below





It also shows up under bluetooth in the device manager. It's not listed under "Audio inputs and outputs", which I thought it should be, but I can see it under "Sound, video and game controllers".





But I can't select it as a playback device

And I tried the suggested steps listed there, but nothing helped

Any further ideas I could try?

How to troubleshoot: "Bluetooth speaker connected but no sound"

But before you start troubleshoot this issue, have you make sure to set your Bluetooth Headset as default play back device, while the media player( which ever you're using) was running? Also, have you read the user manual? That can be somethimes very useful!

After a short google search I found the following methods:

Method 1:

Check if the Bluetooth service is running:

1. Press Windows Key + R, type services.msc and press Enter.
   
2. Search for Bluetooth support service.
   
3. Check if it is started, if not Right click on the service and click on Start.
   

Method 2:

Reinstall the Bluetooth driver following these steps:

1. Press Windows key + X and select “Device Manager”
   
2. Expand “Bluetooth” and right-click on the driver.
   
3. Select “Uninstall”, check marked “delete the software for the device” and select “OK” (after that, you can see there is no “Bluetooth” expansion on "Device Manager")
   
4. Select “Update Driver Software”.
   
5. Restart the computer.
   

Method 3:

Restart Bluetooth wireless connectivity:

1. From the Start screen, swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap or click Settings.
   
2. Tap or click Change PC settings.
   
3. Tap or click PC and devices, and then tap or click Bluetooth.
   
4. Under Bluetooth, tap or click to turn Bluetooth Off, and then tap or click again to turn Bluetooth On.

There is one step you all are missing. After making sure the bluetooth speaker or headphone is paired with your computer and ready to connect open the windows 10 action center and you will see a panel that says.... connect. Click on that. Windows will search for your bluetooth device and ... connect to it.
