  1. Boot blackscreen problems after KB5004237 Update

Hello, two days ago I did "Update and Shut Down" on my desktop before going to bed. I didn't watch the update but it did its thing and turned off. The next day when I turn on my computer, it will not load windows and I cannot get to BIOS screen by holding F8. My monitor and keyboard don't light up / no signal, although I can see lights on the motherboard and on the video card. Eventually after unplugging my external drive and resetting for ~ 30 minutes, I manage to get to the BIOS screen, and Windows starts up just fine after exiting BIOS.I suspect there is some kind of UEFI issue caused by up

    :)

  2. Issues with the booting of the system and blackscreen

    Hi,

I realize the inconvenience caused to you regarding the startup repair and the blackscreen. I will certainly assist you.

Please answer the below questions to assist you better.

    1. What is the exact error message or error code you are getting during the booting?

    2. Did you make any changes in the system settings prior to this issue?

I suggest you to run Startup repair from Advance boot option.

It may ask you to insert the Installation DVD/USB while doing startup repair.

If you don’t have an installation media, you have to create an installation media for that.

You may download an ISO from the below link:

    Download Windows 10

Once your media is ready follow the steps.

    • After you boot your computer using Windows 10 CD/ DVD or System Repair Disc, a black screen appears with gray text "Press any key to boot from CD or DVD". Press any key.
    • Click on Repair your computer in the lower left corner.
    • Select Troubleshoot from Choose an option screen.
    • Click on Advanced options in Troubleshoot screen.
    • Click on Startup Repair from Advanced Options screen.
    • Next, choose the operating system by clicking on its button.
    • Windows 10 will look for problems on hard drive(s) and verify that all required files are intact.

Also refer the link on Troubleshoot black screen problems and check if it helps.

Troubleshoot black screen or blank screen errors

Windows 10 1709 System Restore problems...

That seems to be an attempt at Option 2 in the tutorial, which requires you to
    a. Boot to a command prompt (Did you?)
    b. You then seem to be mixing steps 3,4 and 5, thus your command is incorrect.

I suggest Option 1 is easier.

If you still have problems, please repost listing each specific step and saying which option from the tutorial you are using. Thanks.

Windows10 blackscreen on boot, no BIOS splash screen

    RIGHT!!!

    Absolutly not the hardware problem..

I had done the same thing as you did, keep computer on for one week or so....(cauze it's hard to restart it again from blackscreen..)

But unfortunately...My notebook suddenly went blackscreen, and I didn't shut it down before...

And I cannot get out of that neverending blackscreen anymore...

I have changed CMOS battery, also tried to boot up without CMOS battery and notebook battery, but it didn't work....

I believe many people have this problem...ABSOLUTELY
