    That started to do something but we ran out of disk space. I suspect I now know where a lot of the drive space went. BOINC is part of the SETI at home project family and clearly it's using lots of space for climate prediction studies. I'll go delete that data and see if that make enough space to try again.

    BOINC was using over 12GB. Uninstalled the program and deleted the files from both windows.old and windows. Now 28GB free. Running again.

    Doesn't look good. Several restarts were showing progress. At 46% the screen went black and no response to the mouse or keyboard. I can hear the pc is still running. I will let it go for the day and see what harms when I get home tonight. Tired of W10 and these update problems. Now that you have saved my data I will probably just do a clean install.

    Ok I will download and use that to do the install. I decided to see what was happening and started the computer back up and it restored the previous version. This time it succeeded. I suspect the lack of free space caused the other failures before.
