  1. Boot loop after updating.

I normally disable windows updates, I don't know why it updated this one. Restarted my laptop to find the windows upgrade installing. Immediately after boot up things felt buggy. Resolution changes, icon changes, tool bar at the bottom changed... I thought it was a virus masked as an official windows update, so I went to factory reset the laptop. It gave me an error and then restarts right into a boot loop.

I've tried every option in the blue screen. Restore from image none found factory reset- error, keep files reset - nope... ect. Tried everything. Even learned a few cmd lines and attempted to save this that way. Copy regback ect.. no files found. I Downloaded bios from my manufacturer, keeps saying wrong file size, tried get the intel emergency recovery for my laptop, can't figure out how to run it from this blue screen of death.

I've sold everything to keep from Being homeless this year. This is the last item I have left beyond a packaging tape wrapped phone because of a busted screen I can't afford to replace I can't accept its death. I will not. Its all I have left. Please someone help. Friends all say Microsoft is a trash resource hog and I should be on a different operating system. And to just usb boot load a new os, or get a cracked version I want legit firmware personally But I play a lot of games on my laptop and don't want incompatibility issues. I'm not buying another version of windows. If this forces my dollar. I'll leave Microsoft all together, the os is the only product remaining for me, use alternatives everywhere else...

Windows came loaded on my laptop, I don't have a physical version, I don't have keys on hand to redownload. I can't buy anything, or spend a dollar. please help. I've spent 2 days staying up till 6 am battling this. I can't do it anymore. I need more than 2hrs of sleep...

How can I resolve this boot loop? I'm furious to know it came from an official update. There has to be something . It's just software. It's not like it had a thermal overload shutdown like my last causing hardware issues.

I have shotty pics from my phone of the system info, firmware version, ect. Screen shots of the error messages. If it matters intel core gen7 i5 , geforce gtx1060 . I don't want cracked/modded os. I value software integrity ironically given the situation I don't want to lose access to my windows os by loading a new one..

A thought I had but no nothing of; boot into tails from usb? And attempt to fix it within tails os, because there is no recourse in this boot loop blue screen of death. Open to learn anything, as I'm a DIY guy and afford to send it anywhere to reflash os. Or buy one... but if it's time to go rogue, I'll do what I need to...

    :)

    Boot loop

    Hi Terri,

This issue occurs when there are broken components on the boot configuration data of your system. To troubleshoot your boot loop issue, we suggest that you boot in
    safe mode through the Windows
    Recovery
Environment option. To do this, follow these steps:

    • Turn on your computer. When the Windows logo appears, unplug and replug the device. Perform these steps three times.
    • On the fourth instance, turn on your device without unplugging it. The Windows Recovery Environment window will appear.
    • On the Choose an option screen, click Troubleshoot.
    • Click Advance options.
    • Click Startup Settings.
    • Click Restart.
    • Once your computer restarts, you will see a list of options. Press the F4 key to start your computer in
      safe mode.

Once done, we suggest that you perform a system restore after booting in safe mode. System Restore will be able to revert your PC or laptop to their previous state, which can be used to repair and recover system malfunctions or issues. Restoring won’t affect
your personal files, but it will remove apps, drivers, and updates installed after the restore point was made. To do this, follow the steps below:

    1. Right-click the Start button, and then select
    Control Panel.

    2. Search Control Panel for
    Recovery.

    3. Select Recovery > Open
    System Restore > Next.

    4. Choose the restore point related to the problematic
app, driver, or update, and then select
    Next > Finish.

Feel free to post back if you need further assistance.

    Windows 10 Repair Boot Loop

    Hi Jed,

If your computer is stuck in a boot-loop state of Windows, it could mean that automatic repair isn't able to repair a corrupted or broken system file, but attempts to repair it over and over again. For us to assist you properly in resolving this boot-loop
state, kindly respond to the questions below:

    • Did the issue occur even after removing the USB wireless mouse?
    • Aside from running DISM, what other troubleshooting steps have you done? This is for us to know and to avoid any duplication of efforts on your end.

We look forward to your response.
