Now my problem the last 3 days at lease once per day . I will see on booking up a message Prepairing windows while it is booking up
    Then I get this message

We Can’t sign in to your account,
This problem can often be fixed by signing out of your account and then signing back in.
If you don’t sign out now any files you create or change you may make will be lost

I copied the message word for word I am stumped I do not sign out nothing to sign out for It is only me on here 1 account I just click start power button and shut down
If I do not click sign out I am on a totally new desk top different back ground all my desktop folders are gone

Power on and off your computer three times

    How do you do that?

Power on, when you see the Windows Logo - power off

Power on, when you see the Windows Logo - power off

Power on, it will then your computer will boot into the Advanced Recovery environment

You might be asked to sign in with your Microsoft Account or Local Account password.

    Click Advanced Options

    Click Troubleshoot

    Click Advanced Options

Click System Restore, see if you can go back to an earlier time.

If not, boot into the recovery environment again, then try performing a startup repair.

If that does not work, boot into the recovery environment, then click 'Go back to previous version of Windows'

    If that does not work.

Go to a working computer, download, create a bootable copy, then perform a clean install.

The update or restart could not load your profile and you were signed in with a temp profile. Hence the diff desktop and any changes will not be saved, so do nothing on the new log-in. Sometimes you can fix by simply sign out and back in but if not, use this tutorial - Fix You've been signed in with a temporary profile in Windows 10

You DO have a logon, you cannot use Windows 10 without signing in to an account. You just don't have a password set for your account, so you don't get asked to sign in at start up.

Windows will attempt to sign in the last user that had been signed in before it was shut down. Without a password you go straight in and don't see the log in screen, doesn't mean you haven't signed in though. *Smile

If you are able to logon perform these steps:
    1) Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    2) sfc /scannow
    3) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    4) chkdsk /scan
    5) net user test /add
    6) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread
    7) shutdown /r
    8) sign on with the new user named test
    9) report into the thread whether the same message was the same or disappeared with the new user named test

  11. You have "windows 10 pro Education version1709 build 16299.309
I noticed it say Education That is something new never been here before."
--- That means what you saw before was windows 10 pro version1709 build 16299.xxx?

NOTE: "Windows 10 Pro Education builds on the commercial version of Windows 10 Pro and provides important management controls needed in schools."
Windows 10 editions for education customers | Microsoft Docs

Are you a student, maybe even a teacher?
--- Since you have the education version, the computer is under control of the educational facility and it's updates, setups or whatever is involved on the system in use is based on what they do.
--- If the above isn't the case, please let us know how the education version applies to the computer.
--- If the above is the case, contact them about your issue.

  13. Boot up Problem

Thank you for that information. It's astounding how Microsoft's Windows Updates work sometime. It might be worth finding out if you have Windows.old folder and revert prior to the time of this recent update. However others more knowledgeable than me will be more helpful for better procedures to troubleshoot what needs to be done.
