Windows 10: Bootable USB for Windows 10 Home 20H2 Recovery

Hi there,I used to create bootable USB for my Windows station by using MediaCreationTool, I did a couple time, last time I did it was 2-3 years ago. I suspect something may have changed since that time, and I can't remember all the details how I did it back then. Would you please guide me through the process again: where to get the new MediaCreation tool, what to do before creating the Windows image etc.I run my station on Windows 10 Home 20H2 64-bitThanks in advance for your help.

Multi-bootable USB

Hey guys from TPU, couldn't find any specific thread pertaining to the question asked on title. As mentioned, I'm trying to create a bootable USB, but with many specifics boots available.

I've been trying to create one with multiple boot device including one that enables me to run Windows 10 directly on the USB Thumb Drive but to no avail.

The list of bootable images i'm trying to create are

1. Windows 10 (A full OS running from thumb drive)
2. Windows 10 ISO (Bootable disk image for fresh install)
3. MemTest86+

Have tried YUMI or UUI from the website USB PenDrive Linux but as this is my first time, i don't know how am i screwing up or am doing it right.. Anyone got a rough idea on a step by step guide? Thanks!

 

Unable to create bootable USB for Windows 10 Enterprise with Windows 10 20H2 iso

I am creating a Bootable USB to boot UEFI enabled computer. This requires that the USB is formatted with FAT32. FAT32 partitions cannot handle files bigger than 4.00GB. Windows 10 20H2 Business Editions iso has multiple edition baked into one ISO. And hence
the file size of "sources\install.wim" is larger than 4.00GB.

For this I used dism tool to extract image for specific edition from the "sources\install.wim", and then use the extracted image in bootable USB. Extracted image was always less than 4.00GB, which was good to store on FAT32 filesystem.

For Windows 10 20H2, extracted image for enterprise edition is 4.34 GB (4,559,417 KB which is larger than 4.00 GB). And hence cannot be stored on FAT32 filesystem, which in turn is not allowing me to create a bootable USB to install Windows on machine with
UEFI enabled.

 

Cannot create recovery drive or bootable usb using media creation tool

Hi Stuart,

To assist you better with your concern, are you getting an error message upon creating a recovery drive, as well as creating a bootable USB drive? If yes, what's the error message?

In addition to that, have you tried the steps from the following articles:

• Create Windows 10 installation media.
• Create a recovery drive.
