    Bootable USB Windows by accident

First time on this forum, hello all.

I'm a long time Windows user, including an Insider Preview system. I've built several systems from scratch, although in the last few years I've purchased commercial products. Often I'll obtain one with a minimum mechanical hard drive, replace it with a SSD, and reinstall Windows.

So here's the story - my wife has a Dell 9030 AIO with a 2.5" mechanical hard drive, approximately 5 years old. The system was beginning to show its age, i.e. not very speedy. I purchased a 27" Asus monitor and an Intel NUC kit, added the requisite memory and a WD SSD, and installed Windows 10 with a new license. All is well with the new system, so I decided to renovate the 9030 AIO. I pulled the mechanical hard drive and replaced it with a SSD, re-installed W10 and now have a spare and much quicker system.

I put the old hard drive into an external USB 3 drive enclosure, in order to access any data we may have missed in the transfer process. For grins, I plugged it into a 9030 USB port and booted from the drive. The old version of W10 fired right up, all apps and data intact. I thought this isn't much of a test, because the loaded drivers are all correct for the AIO hardware.

As a further test I plugged it into a laptop, and again booted from the external drive. There was an initial step of getting services ready, and then the the laptop booted up with my wife's old system and apps. I was surprised, did not really expect it to work. I haven't done exhaustive testing, but it appears to me this is a way to enhance older systems and still have the assurance of reverting to the previous installation if necessary.

    Anybody else tried this?

    Multi-bootable USB

Hey guys from TPU, couldn't find any specific thread pertaining to the question asked on title. As mentioned, I'm trying to create a bootable USB, but with many specifics boots available.

I've been trying to create one with multiple boot device including one that enables me to run Windows 10 directly on the USB Thumb Drive but to no avail.

The list of bootable images i'm trying to create are

    1. Windows 10 (A full OS running from thumb drive)
    2. Windows 10 ISO (Bootable disk image for fresh install)
    3. MemTest86+

Have tried YUMI or UUI from the website USB PenDrive Linux but as this is my first time, i don't know how am i screwing up or am doing it right.. Anyone got a rough idea on a step by step guide? Thanks!
