Windows 10: Bootres.dll is corrupt !!!

My Desktop is facing a boot problem. The error just says "Log File E:\Windows\System32\Logfiles\Srttrail.txt."

I tried most of the cmd options suggested in youtube and microsoft community. None of it worked.

I opened the Srttrail.txt from cmd and it said

Root cause found.

Boot critical file c:\boot\resources\custom\bootres.dll is corrupt.


I also dont understand why it is showing E when windows is installed on C drive ???


I am afraid that I will have to reinstall windows and my data will be lost.


I have installed Windows 10 installer on USB.

Corrupt DLL files

I keep getting a message about corrupt dll files (MSVCP110.dll is just one) when I try to open several apps. I have tried a number of the suggestions from the message boards but nothing works. I have reinstalled the programs to no avail. Any suggestions?

There;s also a known issue in Version 1803 where this creates a boot loop. See fix here:

If you're on Version 1803 I would upgrade to the new version by installing the Media Creation Tool and choosing to Upgrade this PC Now:

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-10/m.... This is the most stable method to change versions and avoids buggy Windows Updates and Update Assistant.

DLL Missing

The problem is, that the required DLL is not actually even listed there.
There are just dozens of download adware links from the top to the bottom.
