Windows 10: both photo viewer and the snipping tool have disappeared?

both photo viewer and the snipping tool have disappeared from windows are no longer available. additionally, the microsoft store is also no longer available

Hi Paul JK,

Windows Photo viewer/Photos app was designed like that and there is no way to disable it. If you want, open the image that you want to snip, then launch the snipping tool, just wait for the navigation icons(previous and next pictures and delete icons
on the bottom) to disappear then click NEW on the snipping tool. Using these steps you can snip without seeing those icons on the bottom.

Hi and thanks. Thats exactly what I've been trying to do, but it just reappears withany key press or mouse movement, including using the snipping tool ! !

Please try this:

Step 1:

Click Start, and type Snipping Tool.

Right-click Snipping Tool from the search results, and click App Settings

Click Reset,

Click Repair.

Note: In Windows 11, there is no Snip and Sketch. It comes pre-installed with the new Snipping Tool (which replaces the old Snipping Tool and Snip & Sketch apps)

Step 2:

Turn off Focus assist if it's enabled

Step 3:

Open Services.msc and make sure that the following services are set to "Automatic" and running:

• Windows Push Notifications System Service
  
• Windows Push Notifications User Service
