    Got another SSD, installed windows 10 from same disk. It booted fine just now. Maybe my Crucial M500 needs to go in for RMA or I need to do something to it?

    did you try plugging in the "suspected dead" micron while on your "new and working" SSD?
    check if you can access the micron SSD fine through windows. (copy/paste/delete files on it)
    you can also check with an SSD diagnostic software. Not sure what to recommend though. See if it's still alive *Biggrin

    You may be able to still use that micron as a storage *Wink

    Yep, I did that an re-initialized it. The Crucial storage software tells me its in good health. I am at a loss. It is less than a year old and has a 3 year warranty though so I could ship it to them but they basically reserve the right to charge you whatever and its technically their property once you send it back. Maybe have to look for peoples experience with Crucial's RMA.
