Windows 10: Bright start menu and taskbar

As long as not a pitch black ...I'm ok with it ..*Smile

 

Yeah I'd still call that very dark grey/nearing on black. What I'm talking about is changing it so it matches the light grey explorer accent colour, which hasn't been a problem in previous versions of Windows.

I just installed an update to Start10 and can now make the taskbar a light gray.

 

Which update? Was it KB3081438? I still see no light gray option in Personalization > Colors.

 

He's talking about Start10 by Stardock. It's a $5 program that allows you to change the start button and taskbar image as well with patterns or your own images. It's actually pretty cool.

Well, the next task is somehow changing the highlight and text color for the taskbar buttons...

Actually, they don't stick out: the brighter the taskbar gets the less the contrast becomes between the button text and the button background. In my case it's alright but it would be better if all the white things (start menu icon, search icon, button text, show hidden icons arrow) could be given a dark color. For users wanting an (almost) white taskbar it would be a must.
