Windows 10: Brightness/Gama Adjustment

Hello,


Last night (Aug 9th) I went through the Win 10 update. Since then, I cannot adjust my brightness and/or Gama no matter which app I use. The past couple years or so I have been using Gama Panel but it quit working after the update last night even though I uninstalled and re-installed it using the most recent version (1.20).


I also tried asking Cortana and it took me to a brightness slider which I installed but it didn't work at all either. I tried Dimmer and it worked except for one issue: I need to be able to use hot keys to adjust Brightness/Gama on the fly. I also tried Vista Shades but had the same problem with it that I had with Dimmer.


Can anybody point me to a Brightness/Gama app that uses hot keys and will work with the new Win 10 update?

Brightness can not be adjusted.

Do let us know the following to assist you better with this issue:

• What is the make and model of your device?
• Were you able to see any error message/ error code with this issue?
• Have you tried to install all the pending updates for drivers and Windows Updates on your device?

This issue might have happened due to corrupted/ outdated drivers.

I suggest you to refer to the below Microsoft article, try the troubleshooting steps suggested to change the brightness and check if it helps.

Adjust brightness settings in Windows 10

2. From where exactly are you trying to adjust the brightness?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Type Settings in the Search bar and then Enter.
• Click on the System and then Notifications and Actions which is available on the Left pane.
• Click on Add or Remove quick Actions.
• In the make sure that the Brightness is ON.
• Then click on the Action Center and adjust the Brightness according to your preference.

Brightness Control not working in Windows 10

To adjust the brightness, see the steps below:

• Go back to Power Options, and tick on the High performance.
• See if you can adjust the brightness.

If this not work, we highly suggest that you create an Administrator account, and re-do the steps above.
