Windows 10: Brightness isn't changing

So just upgraded to windows 10. This is an old laptop but still works great.

My brightness is not changing at all. The bar displays and shows it going up or down but the display brightness stays. Didn't have this issue on windows 7. I even went into settings to move the bar and bar moves but brightness level stays the same.

I followed instructions in this thread and nothing. Did check general updates and updating now, will remove this post if updates help.
