Windows 10: Brightness setting unavailable

Hi since I saw the reactiveness and the usefulness of the answers I will take the opportunity to try and resolve a tough problem that I have it's been 8 years that I've had this pc from windows 8/8.1 to today and like 2 years ago I don't how I don't know why (maybe an update but Idk) but suddenly I couldn't setup my brightness anywhere in windows 10 even though I could even in windows 10 is there any fix ? because it's really annoying to have a screen as bright as the sun and 3rd party apps are not really the solution either Thanks in advance

Brightness Settings Unavailable?

Hello Ashton,

That's exactly the problem I'm trying to address. There are no brightness settings in the Action Center, or in Settings/Display, or in Control Panel under any heading. And the physical buttons on my monitor have the brightness selector disabled (which was
not the case before I connected my monitor to the computer).

I have an ASUSPRO C622AQH monitor. Microsoft Support suggested that it's the Intel UHD Graphics 630 driver holding the brightness settings hostage so I can't access them to adjust anything manually (not their words, but the sense of them), and they didn't
have any suggestions to get around it. I was trying to set up hotkeys to adjust brightness, but I can't even get access to the settings slider.

Please let me know if you can think of anything else to try. Thanks!

Sorry for the very late reply! Thank you for your response. I looked into the brightness slider, but it said it was for laptops, and Windows Defender flagged it and didn't want to let it run. So I'm unsure if it's worth sidestepping Windows Defender to try
it.

My main goal is to be able to set up keyboard shortcuts to adjust brightness up and down, because my physical monitor buttons require a few selections through a menu to get to the brightness settings, vs. being able to hit a button to make the desired adjustment.
I'm starting to lose hope that this is even possible, but I haven't quite given up yet.

If you have any further suggestions, please let me know.

I suggest you to follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Type Settings in the Search bar and then Enter.
• Click on the System and then Notifications and Actions which is available on the Left pane.
• Click on Add or Remove quick Actions.
• In the make sure that the Brightness is ON.
• Then click on the Action Center and adjust the Brightness according to your preference.
