    I received the error 0xc000014c and so i used my installation media to quickly do the bootrec commands i have had this issue before. But now when i did this rebuildbcd comes back with the requested system device cannot be found. Next I tried things to get rid of this, like diskpart then sel vol - boot volume rename and use ren BCD BCD.bak on the EFI but when I put in ren BCD BCD.bak it says the media is write protected. I am helpless because even when i try to reset windows keeping all files it says the window drive is locked, unlock the drive to resetI cant system restore because it says To

    Hello,

    I recently upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 and it had been working perfectly for a little over a month until about last week, when it would start up until it reached a blank screen with endlessly spinning dots, finally a few days ago I got an error
    message saying my computer needed to be repaired and the following \Boot\BCD error code: 0xc000014c

    I tried to do a clean boot of Windows 10 using a USB but every time I try to repair it I get this message that says "The drive where Windows is installed is locked. Unlock the drive and try again."

    I've tried several suggestions from using command prompts to solutions that worked for similar issues for Windows 8 but to no avail.

    Is there anything else I can try?

    I've tried this but get, "the system cannot find the path specified", after inputting each CMD line.
