Windows 10: Brother DCP-135C Printer stopped working

For some reason my printer has stopped working. The document is in the queue for the printer and then disappears as if it has been printed but it has not. The same happens with a test print too.

I understand that there was a recent update and that that has caused some problems with printers. I have followed all of the advice on how to rectify this but none of it has worked, can anyone help please?

Brother printer DCP-J4110DW no blacktext

Brother printer DCP-J4110DW will not print black text, however it will photo copy and print black text during copy process

Do I need both copies of my printer (Brother DCP J715W) on Windows 10?

One is automatically installed by the system, and the other is installed by the driver of the printer. Usually we can keep a printer.

We can check if the printer ports of the both printer copies are the same in printer properties.

If their printer ports are the same, we keep Brother DCP-J715W Printer and delete the other one.

If their printer ports are different, we keep the printer that works well by our testing(It is best to keep Brother DCP-J715W Printer).

• Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Which version and OS build number of Windows 10 is currently installed? To check, press the
  Windows key, type winver, and press the
  Enter key.
• Have you tried to download and install the latest driver for your printer from the manufacturer's website?
• Do you receive any error messages?
• What program are you using to scan files?
