Windows 10: Brother Printer DCP-197C does not work following updates

Last week I had an old version of Windows 10 uninstalled and the latest version installed on my laptop. The reason this was carried out was because my Brother Printer DCP-197C wouldn't work following some Microsoft updates. Following the installation of the new version of windows 10, the printer worked ok.

This week when I try to print something I have the same problem. Any experience of this problem out there ? I don't suspect the printer.

• Have you made any changes to your computer prior to this issue?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Which version and OS build number of Windows 10 is currently installed? To check, press the
  Windows key, type winver, and press the
  Enter key.
• Have you tried to download and install the latest driver for your printer from the manufacturer's website?
• Do you receive any error messages?
• What program are you using to scan files?

Brother printer DCP-J4110DW no blacktext

Brother printer DCP-J4110DW will not print black text, however it will photo copy and print black text during copy process

any help will be much appreciated ,

Do I need both copies of my printer (Brother DCP J715W) on Windows 10?

One is automatically installed by the system, and the other is installed by the driver of the printer. Usually we can keep a printer.

We can check if the printer ports of the both printer copies are the same in printer properties.

If their printer ports are the same, we keep Brother DCP-J715W Printer and delete the other one.

If their printer ports are different, we keep the printer that works well by our testing(It is best to keep Brother DCP-J715W Printer).
