Windows 10: Brother printer model dcp j562dw says no pc found in network, when scan button is hit.

have turned Defender firewall off, still same error message at the printer/scanner (for about 1 week now)


have switched the firewall back (Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit) on and added always allowed for several fields (icoming traffic) in the private network and have added port udp 54925 and tcp 54921 for incoming traffic, but that didn't help.


Oddly in device manager under scanners and cameras my printer is listed correctly

I can print to it

under properties (device manager/view scanners and cameras), properties, it says working correct.


it is also listed as a scanner driver in control panel (show devices and printers)/ view scanners and cameras.


Brother helpline sends links for uninstall then install drivers, done that about 3 times now and also set up wizard wifi on the printer and added the passwords etc, still no change.


Realtek High Definition Audio is yellow flagged, but I don't think that is relevant. I did update that driver. Driver navigator says all drivers are up to date.

• What troubleshooting steps have you done so far?
• Which version and OS build number of Windows 10 is currently installed? To check, press the
  Windows key, type winver, and press the
  Enter key.
• Have you tried to download and install the latest driver for your printer from the manufacturer's website?
• Do you receive any error messages?
• What program are you using to scan files?

Unable to scan from Brother DCP-145C printer

I need to scan some papers... [for a refund of $ 350,-... which I urgently need] ... but my printer doesn't scan. I try to install Brother driver software (W10 compatible) but the install program says the USB cable is not plugged in [which is incorrect]
, in other words... proceeding is disabled.

Opening the printer's properties to change the driver software from that point shows me it has "Windows 10 driver software" and all options to alter that are disabled too.

Who can help?

PS: Who made up W10 ? i'd like to ask him/her a question about ethics.

brother MFC model DCP7030 scanner not compatable in windows10

i have trying to install Brother MFC model DCP-7030 in my ne windows laptop. windows upgraded to Anniversary addition.

the printer in the device is working but the scanner is not communicating. the driver suggested by Brother is installed but error continues.
