Windows 10: Browser and Applications Keep Crashing After CHKDSK

Hello,


Recently I've noticed that my PC was performing slowly and saw that my DISK Usage was constantly at 100% for extended periods of time, especially


when I open a Game / Application. After some research on how to fix this problem I came across a possible solution in which I could perform a CHKDSK


/r /f. After performing different possible solutions and a CHKDSK my Disk Usage did lower but now whenever I open a game or application any other


program like a browser will crash after 1-2 minutes of use and occasionally I would get a message that says that I do not have enough memory to open


a page which I've never had before when having a game open before troubleshooting.



Notes: I've also disabled some windows service and when performing a CHKDSK my PC rebooted fairly quickly (around ~2 hours) back to windows on a


1TB hard disk drive so I believe that the CHKDSK was incomplete and might have corrupted files.

I've also checked Task Manager to see if it was a memory problem but usually when it crashes my memory is about 70% used.

Corrupted browser cache and extensions are some of the things that can cause your browser to crash. To isolate your concern, we'd like to ask the following:

• Have you tried using a different browser other than the ones mentioned above? If yes, did you encounter the same error?
• What are the troubleshooting steps that you've performed to resolve your concern?

I suggest you run rthdribl > http://www.daionet.gr.jp/~masa/archives/rthdribl_1_2.zip
Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?

It might be an error on the drive. We suggests that you follow the troubleshooting steps below:

• Run Disk Cleanup utility to clear your junk files.
• Open an elevated CMD type sfc /scannow and hit Enter to run the System File Checker.
  
• Once the scan is completed, restart your computer. Remember to exit ChkDsk
  during boot.
• Next, again open CMD as admin type
  Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth and hit Enter to repair the Windows image.
• Now see if ChkDsk able to complete the scan.

Note: Before doing the steps, make sure you save a back up of your files.
