Windows 10: Browser playback randomly breaking

Every now and again, when I return to my PC and try to start a youtube video in Firefox, the video would just load the first frame and then permanently load, staying on that frame.

This happens on firefox, chrome and edge, and I had playback problems on youtube, vimeo, karafun and other sites. When it happens on any of the browsers/sites, I can reproduce it on the rest of them. Therefore, I assume that this isn't a browser specific issue, nor a website specific issue, but a windows specific issue (it might be a display driver issue too, but I doubt it, nvidia drivers have always been quite stable).

Even video players stop working when asked to play a local file.

Note that this happens after I leave my PC idling for several hours, but only about the third of the time. It mostly happens when I return to the PC in the morning after leaving it on overnight. I've also had it happen less than 24 hours after I turned my PC on, so it's not a case of "haven't restarted the PC for over a month".

This also happens on a relatively clean install of windows.

The only fix is to completely restart the system, which is something I hate doing if I don't have to.Is there a proper, permanent fix for this?

EDIT: Upon further inspection, it looks like the sound stopped working across the system. I have an external Behringer sound card, so it's not like it's a low quality audio device. The problem fixes itself if I plug and unplug the card from the system, but still, it's not really a solution.

Windows 10 Pro and Ergnomic Break Reminder

Do you remember installing any break reminder software?



It looks like it is a pop up from a break reminder software.



I suggest you to look for this in Programs in features and uninstall it if do not use it.



Try the following steps:

• 
  Press Windows + R keys to open Run Command
  
• 
  Type Appwiz.cpl and hit enter
  
• 
  Search for the programs and un-install it.

How to factory reset Cisco 1700 Router

Hopefully I can help you here....its a very common thing to happen.


First, I take it you dont know the passwords for console access or telnet/ssh?

I will assume that these devices belong to you.

step 1. Plug a cisco console cable into a serial port on your pc
step 2. Plug other end into Cisco console port
step 3. Using hyperterm or putty or similar connect to the serial port
step 4. boot router, and make sure you clearly can see the output (this confirms you have good serial comms)
step 5. if this fails, adjust the comm port settings (9600, 8,1,n are the default)
step 6. now you have to do the only hard part...send the break command:

Break command list: Break Commands

Go down the list and match your OS and SW and try the sequence suggested.

If this fails several times do what I do: Install putty (free) and then to send a break so you can get into rommom just hit "ctrl-a b".
