Windows 10: Browser won't open ANY hyperlink...

A good friend of mine bought this week a new laptop but... it won't open ANY hyperlink on any site. It just starts up Google as the home page and that's it. You can't search with it, you can't click any links. It just does NOTHING! So what to do? What advice can I give him? (Opens facebook btw normally in FF but not in Edge, that's about it...)

As per the description provided, you are unable to open the hyperlinks. Let me find a way to fix this for you.

Method 1:

I suggest you clear the Clear browsing data option
of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

• Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Edge.
• Select Settings and click on
  Choose what to clear.
• Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files
  and click on Clear.

Method 2:

If you are using any Proxy connection, then try disabling the proxy connection and check.

Follow the steps to disable proxy:

            Click the Settings icon at the top right corner in internet explorer.
            
          • 
            Click the Tools
            button, and then click Internet Options.
            
          • 
            Click the
            Connections tab, and then click LAN settings.
            
          • 
            Uncheck the box next to “proxy server for your LAN”.

            Click on OK to save the setting and close window.
            

Now check the issue by opening Edge.

• Do you have Internet Explorer set as a default program?
• Do you face the issue only with the hyperlinks from an email?
• On which email application do you face this issue?

We would suggest you to copy the hyperlink or use an hyperlink from a wordpad and check if you face the same issue.
