BSOD after attaching my monitor - hardware error

    Windows Version:

    1903 (OS Build 18362.535)

    Log location:

    Dropbox - LAPTOP-J9N4DOUJ-(2020-01-09_07-27-39).zip - Simplify your life

    Summary:

    Hi all,

I recently bought a fairly cheap monitor (AOC E2270SWHN 21.5" LED FHD 1920x1080). Half an hour ago, I woke my laptop up from sleep mode, and was playing some Youtube vids. I then plugged the second monitor in using the HDMI cable, and it worked for 4 seconds, then blue screened.

I unfortunately don't remember the exact error, but it was something with "HARDWARE FAILURE" in it.

Previously, I was getting a bunch of SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED errors, but they went away after I updated a bunch of drivers.

Most af my laptop info should be on my profile - if you need any more info please ask and I will provide it as soon as possible.

Also, apologies if there are a lack of details. It happened whenI was getting ready for work, so I didn't have enough time to post proper debugging info!

    Thanks!

    -

    :)

Random unwitnessed BSODs and Hardware Errors in reliability monitor

Hi there, thanks very much for your prompt response. Strange about the Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver being outdated as I updated all of the drivers from Gigabyte's website very recently. However, I have once again updated the driver and malware bytes.

I have just looked in the reliability monitor again, and very recently I had another 'Hardware error' (I will attach a screenshot of the info). What I find worrying is that lots of the BSODs have different error codes. Also, I also often have an error message saying that the graphics driver has stopped responding and has been recovered.

What do you suggest I do next?

    Many thanks for your help.*Wink

    Hi Groggubus,

Welcome to the 10forums BSOD after attaching my monitor - hardware error :)

Please remove / disable items from the startup in taskmanager
These programs could interfere with the boot process giving you trouble and increase the boot time.

Daemon tools, Alcohol 120% and Power Archiver Pro uses SCSI Pass Through Direct (SPTD), which is a well known cause for BSOD's.
Please remove Daemon Tools and run the SPTD pass through remover.

    1. Uninstall Daemon Tools
    2. Download the SPTD standalone installer and follow these steps:
      • Double click the executable to open it
      • Click on the button shown below

BSOD after attaching my monitor - hardware error [IMG]

If the button is grayed out, like in the image, there is no more SPTD installation on your system, and you can close the window

Please follow this suggestion for the BSOD
    1. Please open BitDefender and go to the modules,
    2. Go to the firewall settings,
    3. Uncheck 'Block port scans in the network',
    4. Reboot your system <-- IMPORTANT

    BSOD - Registry Error

    Your BSOD code is 0X000000051

Here's the Google search I did for it: https://www.google.com/search?q=0x0...j5.399j0j7&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=122&ie=UTF-8

There is a hotfix available that might help, https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/810558

This thread makes a few good suggestions too: http://www.sevenforums.com/bsod-hel...dows-7-pro-sp1-registry-error-0x00000051.html

+1 to listing your full system specs, OS version, etc. I did only look at your BSOD log file.

Run a Diskchk /R (I know you already ran one, so you can skip this)

    Run SFC /SCANNOW

    Report back.
