  1. BSOD after installing KB4512508

    Hi,

I have Windows 10 build 1803 and received the update KB4512508. My PC rebooted and booted to a blue screen with error code 0xc000021a and then after a couple reboots it went into the startup repair mode but it couldn't repair. So I ran chkdsk /r/f and after it finished it found no issues then a ran sfc /scannow and after that finished it found corruption but wasn't able to repair them. Right there I knew there was a problem and upon looking up that error code it seems my winlogon.exe is corrupted. I ran a system restore to before the update was installed and everything was fine till the update ran again and ran into the same problem and had to do another system restore.

As of right now I disabled windows update so that it doesn't install the patch KB4512508. My question has any other people found issues with that patch and if there is a fix for it besides the steps I took like maybe a different patch.

    :)

Hello --- I followed this directions and was able to get the update installed, but you said it was non-destructive, which is not exactly true --- it wiped out the update history and the only update in the history is KB4512508

How do I restore the history????

    BSOD after installing KB4512508

    BSOD- atikmpag.sys

This is most likely due to an installation/upgrade error with ATI driver's. I suggest doing DriveSweeper and the following:
    • Drivesweeper all drivers & in Safe Mode
    • Unistall all drivers that aren't used in DriveSweeper (CCC Profiler Updates, MSI AfterBurner, anything related to ATI that use's it's drivers.)
    • After you do this, the first thing you need to do is go into Device Manager and Unistall your ATI Drivers

Once your done, restart the PC and then try installing the latest drivers.

I had several issues with this in the past, but I overcame it with logical reasoning and whenever I have a driver issue, I just use these steps and I always overcome the problem.

    Best of luck! *Toast :toast:
