    BSOD after Plugging in USB device


    So it happened just yesterday, but some symptoms did appeared before.

    Windows 10 home

    intel core i7-7700HQ @2.80GHz

    64bit

    1. 3 days ago, my computer started to lag eventhough my ram is 24 gb

    2. last night, when I tried to plug my usb32 gb flash drive for documents and movies, BSOD happen

    3. The "thread exception not handled" is what shown in the BSOD

    4. Every time that USB device plugged in, that BSOD always happen, even though it was fine before.

    5. My external hard drive is plugged in, but no problem with BSOD.


    Is there anything that I can do to fix this?

    I would choose reset my computer as a last option because it will take lots of time to install everything

    Hi Wendelly,

    As you say it is from your USB ports, but I have 2 questions regarding this.

    1. Does a BSOD occur with every (should working) device you're trying to connect via USB?
    2. Does a BSOD occur when a device is connected on different USB ports?

    USB device not working on Optiplex 9010

    I did plug in external HDD and went to device manager.
    There is none of unknown devices in the list (picture below)

    OK disabled and enabled USB 3.0 root hub and then pluged in external HDD,here is exclamation mark I got:
