Ok, so the DVI cable I had turned out to be broken. i switched that for a new one and that one worked. But I still get black screens. I got one just after turning the computer on from sleep.

I also got a blue screen when running hwinfo64.exe so i reinstalled the program and drivers but that still didn't seem to work so I just removed the program and drivers completely.

I reinstalled Dragon Age Origins But still got an error when closing the game. I only get the error when closing the game and when running it through GOG galaxy which is a game launcher. If I run the .exe without the launcher i don't get any errors. I Reinstalled GOG galaxy and that did seem to fix Witcher 3. I ran it multiple times and didn't recieve any information about it in event viewer. So I think that game is fine now. But it didn't fix Dragon age. So I think I will run Dragon age from the .exe from here on out.

I Have been running driver verifier since I last replied in this thread.

Within the log files I did not see this driver listed.
If you see hwinfo in control panel please uninstall it.
Open file explorer > this PC > C drive > search for HWiNFO64A.SYS
Please post an image of the search results.

  3. I removed HWiNFO64A.SYS from the program everything and uninstalled HWinfo after the bsod and thats probably why you can't see it within the log files. I found Nothing by searching for it in file explorer

    @zbook

You can find reference to this driver in the Eventlog.

Code: Service Name: HWiNFO32/64 Kernel Driver Service File Name: \??\C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\HWiNFO64A.SYS[/quote] Driver Verifier finds it, tests it and reports that it is faulty.

The op has reported that the software was removed, (s)he should check that the file no longer resides in the \system32\drivers folder mentioned.

  5. I removed HWINFO64A.SYS myself from\system32\drivers. After that I didn't get any BSOD's any more.

@slowcorals - can you confirm that the black screens are no longer appearing? If they are that is the area we need to focus on.

  9. The black screens are still appearing. I got one yesterday after I booted from sleep mode. The computer lights up and the fans spin. The screen often dispalys the error code: No video input, during the black screen. If I hold the power button to restart the pc the black screen disappear.

When did you install the current BIOS? I ask because it is a beta version, that means it may not have all its bugs ironed out and could be contributing to the problem.

  11. About 4 days ago. Do you think I should roll back to the previous version? I have had black screens before I updated to the beta bios.

I think it would be a useful test. It may not help but I generally only run a beta version of a BIOS if I know it is fixing a problem for me.

  14. Okay so 3 days have gone by and I have received yet another BSOD. This time I didn't have driver verifier activated and it crashed when i booted up from sleep mode. BlueScreenView says it was caused ny atikmdag.sys.

I also got this error message at shutdown last night.
Translation: The instruction at 0x000000006C7C2924 referenced to the memory on 0x0000014210EE49E8. The memory could not be read. Click on OK if you wanna close the program.

I have attached the zip file with the BSOD below.

The above seems to be a repeat of what was done earlier.
So we may need to look at a roll back or other options.
